FOOD PRODUCER
The Brief
Phyllome approached us to develop a distinctive brand identity and packaging system for their innovative vertical farming produce brand Cloud Farms. They needed a solution that would communicate their sustainable approach while standing out in the competitive fresh produce market.
C H A L L E N G E S
Creating a brand identity that clearly communicates both sustainability credentials and premium quality
Developing packaging that showcases the fresh produce while differentiating between product varieties
Appealing to health-conscious, environmentally aware consumers without sacrificing shelf appeal
Translating complex sustainability benefits into simple, compelling visual and verbal messaging
S O L U T I O N S
We positioned Cloud Farms as a modern, sustainable alternative with tangible consumer benefits beyond eco-credentials. The brand strategy emphasised their triple advantage: exceptional freshness (2-3x longer shelf life), superior taste, and significantly reduced environmental impact (30% of traditional farming's carbon footprint).
The logo design incorporates colourful leaf motifs forming a circular shape within the 'o' of 'cloud', representing both growth and the innovative vertical farming method and linked to the Phyllome logo. The typography balances modern approachability with premium quality cues.
The transparent flow-wrap showcases the fresh produce through clear packaging whilst keeping it fresher for longer.
Using bold colour blocking for easy product identification (green for Rocket, magenta for Mixed Salad, teal for Baby Spinach). Using local Sydney suburb names to emphasise the locally made produce.
Prominently displaying the 'Super Local Leaves' messaging and batch information to emphasise freshness.
Creates strong shelf standout through distinctive coloured graphic elements

The new brand identity and packaging system has helped Cloud Farms secure placement in Harris Farms stores, with plans to expand both distribution and product range. The design system scales effectively to accommodate future product extensions while maintaining consistent brand recognition.
The project demonstrates how strategic design can help sustainable food brands communicate their advantages effectively, connecting environmental benefits with tangible consumer value.
